Farming the Future is committed to directing more—and better—resources toward the UK’s food and farming transition. For us, how we fund is just as important as what we fund.

We’re continually learning and sharing what effective, equitable funding practice looks like, and there is a wealth of valuable guidance already available. We have written a specific note on Advice for Funders of UK Food & Farming but lots of this practice is applicable to other sectors too.

Our approach is rooted in trust-based, relationship-driven practices that support movements and systems change. To help others explore this, we’ve gathered some of the strongest resources we’ve found on funder collaboration, trust-based philanthropy, funding for systemic change, governance in funding, and impact mapping.
